Privacy Policy for Simple GPS Logger

Simple GPS Logger is an open-source application developed by Juraj Sabo. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

Information Collection and Use

Simple GPS Logger itself does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.

The app accesses location data solely to record GPS coordinates when the user explicitly starts a logging session.

All GPS data:

• Is processed only on the user’s device
• Is stored locally as GPX or CSV files
• Remains fully under the user’s control

The developer does not receive or store location data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Simple GPS Logger uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

AdMob is provided by Google LLC and may collect certain information automatically, including but not limited to:

• Device information
• Advertising ID
• IP address
• Approximate location (derived from IP)

This data is collected by Google to provide, personalize, and measure advertisements in accordance with Google’s own privacy policies.

The developer of Simple GPS Logger does not have access to this data.

Data Sharing

The app does not share personal data directly with third parties.

However, third-party services used by the app (such as Google AdMob) may process data as described in their own privacy policies.

Permissions

The app requests the following Android permission:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
  Required to record GPS coordinates while GPS logging is active.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION
  Used to run a visible foreground service while GPS logging is active, ensuring continuous tracking and informing the user via a persistent notification.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS
  Used to display notifications related to active GPS logging.
• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  Used solely to display advertisements via Google AdMob.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
  Used to save exported GPX and CSV files to the device’s storage.

No other sensitive permissions are requested by the app.

Internet Access

Internet access is used solely for displaying advertisements via Google AdMob.

The core GPS logging functionality works offline.
